Saskatoon Naturopathic Medicine

The sleek-looking Saskatoon Naturopathic Medicine clinic has been operating in Saskatoon for only a year and already the waiting list is growing.

“We’ve created a modern, safe, very clean, and functional space in which naturopathic doctors can provide advanced naturopathic treatments to the highest standard,” states Dr. Toby Bridgman, who along with Dr. Amy Velichka leads the clinic.

‘Collaborative’ is a word that characterizes their approach both with patients who are informed and those less so. “When a medical professional comes to the clinic as a patient they can feel comfortable.” Dr. Bridgman notes, “Most of what we do is evidence-based which makes it easier to work a part of a health care team for the patient.”

Starting with the tutelage of Dr. Christoph Kind on Vancouver Island, Dr. Bridgman has been working with York Downs Chemists for 7 years. “There has to be a scientific basis for what we’re doing, and that’s what I like about working with (lead pharmacist) Boyana. It’s easy. I can call her up and ask her, “We’re trying this new medicine. I’ve heard there can be challenges.” She then helps us to ensure that we get the patient what they need safely. If we’re using a new therapy, she’s got all the research, the literature, and experience.” Dr. Bridgman adds, “There are other pharmacies that have medicines that are cheaper. We choose not to use those pharmacies because we see value in York Downs and the additional service that they provide.”
